Sapa – Cat Cat Village – Ham Rong Mountain – 2 Days/1 Night

Sapa located in the north - west of Vietnam, about 350 km from Hanoi. It belongs to Lao Cai province, which a modest land but hides many wonders of the natural scene. The natural beauty of Sapa is combined with human creativity, the topography of the mountains, green forests, which creates a romantic spot.

Cat Cat cultural village was formed in the 19th century by the gathering of some families belonging to some ethnic groups living in mountainous areas of northern Vietnam, especially Black H’Mong. They lived next to each other along the mountainside and cultivated surrounding their home. Rice and corn were grown in terraced fields, while traditional handicrafts such as twisting flax and weaving fabric have been well-kept. Through times, Cat Cat Village has transferred to one appealing feature of Sapa’s tourism…

Ham Rong is home to numerous kinds of flowers and orchard gardens. Wandering stone paths leads tourists to the wild peach forest, then orchid gardens with more than 6000 orchid plants belonging to 194 kinds. Besides, there are a lot of indigenous and exotic flowers grown along the paths like Lily of the Nile, hydrangea, geraniums, ox-eyed daisy and cherry blossom. Mountain fruits like peach, plum, and pear are also found here. The scenery was hidden in the fog and echo sound from a bamboo flute of Mong minority boy change this place into heaven on the earth.

Full Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi – Sapa – Cat Cat Village (L/D)

6.30 – 7.00 am: Pick up from your hotel/stay and depart for Sapa

9.30 am: Follow the highway to Lao Cai city with the first comfort break

11.00 am: Second comfort break at Lao Cai city before approaching Sapa

13.00 pm: Arrive at Sapa Town with colorful traditional costumes of H’mong, Dzao, Tay ethnic People.

- You will check in the hotel if available room and enjoy the lunch with local Vietnamese dishes, check-in procedures

15.00 pm: Tour guide takes you to visit Cat Cat - Shin Chai villages of Black Hmong people. There, you’ll have a chance to see the hydroelectric power station which is built by the French since the twentieth century ago. At here, visitors will be also visiting the Cat Cat waterfall, learning the culture, unique customs of the people here with traditional crafts such as weaving, touching carved silver, forged agricultural tools...

18.00 pm: Back to Sapa for lunch.

In the evening: Relax, free to explore Sa Pa town like Stone Church, Lake Sapa or you can rent motorcycles to visit Lao Chai, Ta Van, Muong Hoa valley, take pictures and admire the remote of Fansipan mountain. Come back to the hotel for dinner. Then you’re free to explore the charm of Sapa by night, enjoy roasted corn, baked eggs beside charcoal fire…

Especially on Saturday night, we highly recommend a stop at the Love Market - one of the unique cultures of the highland peoples in northern Vietnam. Overnight at hotel in Sapa.

Day 2: Ham Rong mountain – Sapa – Hanoi (B/ L)

8.00 am: After breakfast in the hotel, tour guide take you to explore the Ham Rong Mountain with unspoiled scenery and spectacular. At here, you can visit many kinds of the colorful orchid garden from the Indochina area. Passing two Heaven Gate, visitors will be arriving in the top of Ham Rong is called Pitch Cloud, and have a panoramic view of Sapa.

11.00 am: Return to Sapa town.

11.30 am: Have lunch at the hotel.

13.30 - 15.45 pm: Relax and discover Sapa town by yourself with some souvenirs, meet all group members at the hotel to get ready for Hanoi.

16.00 pm: It‘s time to say “Goodbye Sa Pa!” and get on the bus to go back to Hanoi with two comfort breaks.

20.45 pm: We say goodbye to you at your hotel/stay.

Remark: Today, you can visit Fansipan peak and the cost of the ticket is 730.000vnd/ person (Include: transfer to Fansipan park and the cable of Car Sapa - Fansipan - Sapa).

Thing to bring

– Warm clothes, scarf, hat, cap because the weather in Sapa is pretty unpredictable. It is normally cold in September, October, November, December, January, February and March

– Due to the altitude of Sapa, it is sometimes foggy in December, January, February, and March.

– Trekking shoes, sunglasses, sun cream, insect repellent are also necessary. You should take cash with you in Vietnam Dong because the banking system in Sapa sometimes doesn’t function well. US Dollar, Euro, Australia Dollar are accepted in Sapa.

– You should take medicine with you although there are some chemist’s shops in Sapa in case you get sick.
